quite frankly ze hardest yet most fulfilling task. Do not know how to tell you the whole story but here’s a snippet: for the last week, I’ve set up camp in the living room floor and manually tabulated more than 200 response sheets answered by people I’ve met/disturbed in Metro Manila’s 16 cities and 1 municipality (distributively picked based on data from the recent census). Endless rechecking and analyses of tables, dreams involving percentages and fractions, and my lovely adviser laughing when she saw my unreadable calculations on scratch papers.

Another: Last week, had the longest exchange of text messages with her.

JG: Hi Mam, when can I go and have everything checked? Thanks.

TA: Dto me sa dep.

JG: Mam, sorry I’m actually in class now and won’t be done by 3. Are you free that time?

TA: May meeting me with mananahi. Punta u sa dep and iwan kay nanet. Check ko tom.

JG: Shucks Mam, ok lang tom na lang ako magpunta? Baka di ko kasi maintindihan corrections niyo kung wala ako. Sorry sa hassle. Thanks!

TA: K. Free ako tom after lunch.

JG: Thanks! :)

TA: Ka-meeting ko mananahi ngayn. Ganda ng tela order ka na rin.

JG: Sige lang Mam, tapusin ko muna lahat bago mag-business. Thanks though!

TA: K. Malambot ang tela sayang.

JG: Sayang, sige next time. See you tomorrow Mam!

After around 30 minutes, I receive another message from her:

TA: Wag haphazard sa analysis. Dapat college level.

This may just be the most productive or most unproductive conversation I’ve had with her. Siya ay da best.
