Random thing from The Sydney Trip

Dear diary, on our only free day, my group and I visited the Museum of Contemporary Art.

We saw this.

The artist is Maurizio Cattelan.  He’s well-known for his witty, satirical, and unorthodox performances and sculptures which are at once unsettling and humorous.

In this work, Cattelan suspends a horse from the ceiling, reflecting on the elements of tragedy and comedy in human life.

Pssshhh.

Joke lang.

My teacher teaches

Advertising Teacher is finally back in his element after a shaky start. In our Prod Design class last sem, he was consistently stellar. But during our first few meetings this sem, he was just too affected, too conscious, too intimidated by some of the talents (and attitude) in class.

Yesterday was mid-term and we all had to individually present a marketing campaign + TVC for any brand of soup, shampoo, or soap. He entered the classroom, looked at all of us, and said, “I’m ready to be astounded by your brilliance.”

More highlights from Adv Teacher:

“Shut up. Stop explaining. Good work doesn’t need to be explained. Do you explain the Sistine Chapel?”

“This is not art or aesthetics class. This is a strategy class. Sit down, Picasso.”

“Lazy, lazy, lazy. This is not nursery. Nor Gerber – where everything’s been mashed up for your convenience.”

IKR > He’s made of win.

Meanwhile, I’m line producing a real campaign for a company and it’s krazy.

To Infinity

And just like that. The week’s over.

The night I came back from meeting the Pope in Sydney, I opened my diary and canceled almost all the not so important tasks that I had to do for the week to focus on preparing for a very important visit.

The Father was in the country. Words aren’t enough, man. Sleep averaged to an all-time low of about two to three hours a night, but I never felt tired. Having him inside our house gave me and my brothers an energy boost that will last us for, well, a zillion years. What an inspiration. Looking back at everything that happened this week, man, ibang klase. I’m seriously trembling as I type this. Seeing my close friends and high school  buddies captivated by his words and actions during the get-togethers was really something. The guy’s a saint and I love him.

Meanwhile, Chapter 3 aka Framework is amazingly winging itself on its own. Yayness.
